Alpha World
Alpha World is a working name for the dimension where the prologue takes place; it is a place ravaged by war, it's flora and fauna irredeemably destroyed. We chose to work with a narrow colour gamut to show how barren the world has become, with only a single Grove left as the last remnant of an age gone by.
We needed a strong, memorable first shot.
the first draft had a portal with invaders beaming in
the ominous, alien pink light reflecting even on the clouds was meant to suggest an overwhelming presence
the final background ended with lighter, calmer sky in order not to draw attention from the emerging army
The Grove is an oasis; a last stand of magic and nature against the destructive march of the Tekk.
The protective branches raise Withes' sacred book as if on an altar.
